Organic Doggie Sweet Potato Fries

Friday, November 30, 2018

Ash loves sweet potatoes and he couldn't wait for these to come out of the oven. These are healthy and very easy to make and can be shared by the whole family, your dog won't be left out. Plus it's so fun to see them chow down on these fries! See the recipe below.

SWEET POTATO FRIES for your best doggie buddy!
Organic sweet potato, organic coconut oil, fresh organic Italian parsley (optional)

Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2) Clean and peel one large sweet potato
3) Cut fries at about 1/4" thick, try to make them all the same thickness so they bake evenly
4) Lightly grease non stick baking pan with coconut oil (dog friendly fries are not seasoned or coated with oil, also they will not get crispy)
5) place in single layer on baking sheet, do not crowd, bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees, flip halfway thru
6) After they have cooled a bit, plate and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley
7) Decorate with piped cream cheese (optional), wait for the fries to cool a bit or they will melt your pretty pipped stars!

Cream Cheese Garnish (optional, some dogs are sensitive to dairy)
1/3 cup organic cream cheese spread (we used Organic Valley brand)
1/4 cup organic plain coconut yogurt (we used CoYo brand, using coconut yogurt helps cut the dairy content of this dressing, find a yogurt with no sugar added)

Notes:
a) This recipe was tested with all organic ingredients which is why we specified them above, but it's not necessary to use organic.

b) try to keep the fries at 1/4" thick so they will bake through without turning too brown, thicker fries will take longer to bake and risk browning or burning on outside, we don't want to feed our dog burnt fries! Also don't crowd them on the baking pan, this will help keep them from being too soft.
